How it works
Before reviewing each feature in detail, it’s important to understand the concept of Fleet Assets and Fleet Teams. These components form the foundation of the Fleet Management module.
Fleet Assets
The main purpose of this module is to help CPOs collect and analyze EV usage data to optimize operations and billing. By linking charge keys, cars, and drivers, you can gain detailed insights such as energy use per vehicle, session counts, and driver performance.
Charge Keys
The fundamental unit for collecting session data. Each charging session is recorded against a charge key, which is essential for accurate reporting.
Cars
Represents a specific vehicle in the fleet. Linking a charge key to a car allows energy and session data to be tracked at the vehicle level.
Drivers
Represents the individual operating the vehicle. Assigning charge keys to drivers enables driver-based analytics and cost allocation.
Fleet Teams and Member Discounts
After setting up charge keys, cars, and drivers, you can group them into teams to apply different charging rates and conditions. This allows for flexible, advanced fleet management.
There are two types of fleet groups:
- Fleet Team — Used to group internal vehicles or employees under a shared billing and access model.
- Member Discount — Used to define special rates for certain members or external drivers.
TipYou can start with only charge keys, cars, and drivers to collect data — teams and discounts are optional, but highly recommended for larger or multi-company setups.
