Booking

Let drivers reserve charging time at a location: booking rules with time slots, separate booking pricing, booking fees, and how reservations coexist with walk-in sessions.

Booking is configured per location, from the location's Booking tab (see Locations). Enable it to offer scheduled access alongside walk-in charging, with control over slots, pricing, and fees. Booked sessions appear under Upcoming Sessions in the Sessions section, where you can also manage or cancel them.

At semi-public locations, booking follows the same access rules as charging. A driver can only reserve a charger they are allowed to use, and the reservation is refused at the moment they try to book rather than when they arrive. See Teams & Member Discounts for how charger access is granted.

Enable booking

Click Enable booking on the location to start configuring its booking rules.

Set the bookable time frame

Choose when the location accepts bookings: a specific daily range, or 24 hrs.

Set the time slots

  • Slot duration: how long one bookable slot is (30, 60, 90, 120, 180, or 240 minutes, up to 1440). Drivers can book a single slot or several consecutive slots.
  • Buffer period: a pause after each slot so the previous driver can move their vehicle and the next one can get ready.

Set the booking pricing

Booked sessions can be priced separately from walk-in charging:

  • Charge per kWh or per minute.
  • Use the same as location price, or define a booking-only price.

Add-on: free energy

To offset the booking fee, you can grant free energy during the booked session: the first X kWh are excluded from the charging fee calculation. The add-on can also be skipped entirely.

Set the fees

  • Booking fee: a fee per booked slot. Optionally set different fees for same-day and future-date bookings; with nothing set, the same booking fee applies to both.
  • Idle fee and grace period: if the driver fails to unplug before the grace period ends after their booked session, an idle fee is charged, working like the location's normal idle fee.

Choose how bookings and walk-ins interact

  • Booking cancellation: when enabled, a booking cancels automatically after a set number of minutes if the driver never starts charging, freeing the slot.
  • Mix mode charging: enabled means the location serves both walk-in and booked sessions during the bookable time frame; disabled makes it booking-only during that window.
  • Walk-in to booking: enabled lets a walk-in session continue into a booking slot when the same user arrives and starts before their booked time; disabled stops the charge at the booked start time, and the user starts the booking session manually.
  • Booking to walk-in: enabled lets charging continue seamlessly past the booked slot as a walk-in when the next slot is free, without re-plugging, and waives the potential idle fee; disabled ends the session when the slot ends.

Common questions

Where do I see upcoming bookings? Under Upcoming Sessions in the Sessions section, where you can also cancel them; the affected driver is notified in the app automatically.

A driver at my semi-public location cannot book a slot. They do not have access to that charger. Check the location's Access tab to see which groups can use it, and whether the group they belong to has been narrowed to specific chargers.

Can someone without access block a slot at my semi-public site? No. Booking checks access when the reservation is made, so a driver who cannot charge on a charger cannot reserve it either.

Can booked charging cost something different from walk-in? Yes: booking pricing is set separately, per kWh or per minute, or you can reuse the location price.

What happens if a driver books but never shows up? With booking cancellation enabled, the booking cancels automatically after the configured number of minutes and the slot frees up. The booking fee still applies as configured.

Can drivers still charge without a booking? Yes, if mix mode charging is enabled. Disabled means the location is booking-only during the bookable time frame.

What if the driver stays plugged in after their slot? With booking to walk-in enabled and a free next slot, charging continues as a walk-in with no idle fee. Otherwise the grace period runs and the idle fee starts.
