Creating a new CPO

For tenants managing multiple operators: create a new CPO under your umbrella, invite its owner by email, and let them manage their own admins.

💡

The CPO section is available for Multi-Tenant and Tenant users only.

The CPO menu lists all Charge Point Operators created under your tenant. From here you can view and manage CPO accounts, check their charger count, and create new operators.

Create the CPO

  1. Go to CPO in the top navigation bar.

  2. Click Add new CPO in the top-right corner.

  3. Fill in the details:

    • Name: the display name of the new CPO.
    • E-mail: the owner's email address. This user becomes the primary CPO admin once they complete registration.
    • Currency: the default currency for reporting and transactions.
  4. Click Save.

The new CPO appears in your list, and the owner receives an invitation email to activate and access their account.

Prepare the CPO before registration

You do not need to wait for the owner to complete registration before setting up their charging network.

Once the CPO has been created with an email address, you can select it as the operator when creating locations and assign chargers to it. This lets you prepare the CPO's infrastructure in advance so the account can already be set up when the owner first signs in.

The owner can still create and manage additional locations and chargers themselves after completing registration.

What the new CPO manages themselves

Once the owner logs in, they manage their own CPO account. They can invite or remove additional admins under Admins in their own menu, create and manage locations and chargers, and configure their pricing.

Any locations or chargers prepared by the tenant before registration are already available under the CPO account.

As the tenant, you keep visibility across all your CPOs.

Common questions

Who becomes the admin of the new CPO? The person whose email you enter as the owner. They receive the invitation and become the primary admin when they complete registration, with the ability to invite additional admins themselves.

Do I need to wait for the owner to register before setting up their locations and chargers? No. Once the CPO has been created, you can assign locations and chargers to it before the owner completes registration.

The owner never received the invitation. Check the address for typos, and check Intelligence → Email delivery for the invite's delivery status.

Can I change a CPO's currency later? The currency you pick at creation is the default for reporting and transactions. Contact EOSVOLT support if it needs changing after creation.

What can I see of my CPOs as the tenant? Their data rolls up to your tenant account, including chargers, sessions, and the financial information available for each operator.
