Charge points

The Charge points section is where you manage your charging infrastructure: every location and every charger connected to your operator account. It is organised into five tabs, each with its own guide:

Locations: your charging sites (see Locations).
Commercial chargers: public charging across your locations (see Commercial chargers).
Home chargers: residential chargers (see Home chargers).
Private chargers: owner-paid chargers in shared properties (see Private chargers).
Hybrid chargers: home chargers with optional public access (see Hybrid chargers). This tab appears when the hybrid charger feature is enabled for your organisation.

The four charger types

Every charger on the platform has one of four types, chosen when the charger is created. The type decides who can charge on it, who pays, and where it appears. A charger's type cannot be changed after creation, so pick deliberately.

Each type has its own guide: Commercial chargers, Home chargers, Private chargers, and Hybrid chargers.

One form, four types

Adding or editing a charger uses one form with a type selector: four tiles with a description each. Which fields appear depends on the type:

Public sharing appears only for Hybrid chargers.
Enable paid charging appears only for Private chargers.
Hybrid and Private chargers require a location (only public locations can be selected), which is what enables load balancing and paid charging for them.
In edit mode the type tiles are locked: the type is fixed at creation.

Charger status

Statuses appear on every charger list. A charger's status tells you whether it can serve drivers right now:

Open: online and available for charging.
Offline: the charger has lost its connection to the platform. Drivers cannot start sessions on it, and remote commands will not reach it until it reconnects.
Closed: deliberately not available for charging.
Out of order: the charger has reported a fault.
Registering: a newly added charger that has not yet completed its first connection. See Adding a charger for the connection steps.

Charger actions

Every charger (commercial and home) has an action menu on the right-hand side of its row:

Edit: change the charger's settings, such as its alias, model, and location.
Reboot: restart the charger remotely. The quickest first remedy when a charger misbehaves or shows as stuck.
Toolkit: open the OCPP Toolkit for this charger, to unlock a stuck connector, take a plug in or out of service, read or change the charger's configuration, and more.
Download logs: download the charger's raw communication log for a date range you choose, with a filter for which message types to include. This is the authoritative record when diagnosing charger behaviour.
Download QR codes: generate the QR codes for the charger's plugs, ready to print and mount, so drivers can start a charge by scanning.
View charger insights: open the charger's insights page with usage statistics and live electrical graphs.
Delete: remove the charger from your account. This cannot be undone, so use it only for hardware that is permanently decommissioned.

Tip
For anything beyond a simple reboot, the OCPP Toolkit is the troubleshooting workhorse: it can unlock a connector a driver can't release, disable a single faulty plug while the rest of the charger keeps working, and read the charger's configuration without a site visit.

Charger insights

View charger insights opens a per-charger dashboard with summary cards for the number of sessions, total session length, kWh charged, and revenue over a selectable range.

Below the summary, live graphs show the charger's electrical measurements per plug: voltage, current, power (watt), power factor, fan speed, frequency, temperature, and utilization. These are read from the charger's own meter reports and are the fastest way to spot electrical anomalies, for example a plug that offers power the vehicle never draws, or a temperature climbing under load.

Common Questions

How do I restart a charger remotely?
Open the action menu next to the charger and choose Reboot. For finer control, the OCPP Toolkit offers both a soft reset (restarts the charging application) and a hard reset (power-cycles the whole unit).

A driver's cable is stuck in the charger. What do I do?
Open the charger's Toolkit and use Unlock connector for the affected plug. See the OCPP Toolkit page.

How do I take one faulty plug out of service without closing the whole charger?
Use Change availability in the OCPP Toolkit to set that connector to Inoperative. Set it back to Operative when it's fixed.

Why is my charger showing as Offline?
The charger has lost its network connection to the platform. Check the site's internet connection and the charger's power. A charger that is Offline cannot receive remote commands, including reboots, until it reconnects.

How do I download a charger's logs?
Open the action menu next to the charger and choose Download logs. Pick the date range and the message types you want included.

How do I get QR codes for a charger?
Open the action menu next to the charger and choose Download QR codes. Print and mount them at the corresponding plugs.

How do I see a charger's voltage, temperature, or power readings?
Open the action menu and choose View charger insights. The graphs show live electrical measurements per plug.

How do I limit how much power a site draws?
Open the location, go to the Load balancing tab, and set the breaker limits and buffers for the site. The Overview tab's phase monitoring strip then shows live headroom per phase. Full setup steps are in the Load Balancing guide.
