Home chargers

A home charger is built for residential users who charge at home: scheduled charging sessions, family sharing, and home charging insights. Home chargers are managed under Charge Points → Home chargers.

How onboarding works

You create the charger in the backend and invite the owner (the EV driver). Their profile and the charger connection are created automatically when they redeem the invitation in the EOSVOLT app.

Adding a home charger

Go to Charge Points → Home chargers.
Click Add new home charger.
Fill out the charger details.
Under Owner settings, choose the invitation method:
- Add owner via email: enter the customer's email; the system sends an invitation email with a redemption code when you save.
- Add owner offline: generates a redemption code you hand to the user yourself, so the installation can be completed even before the driver has activated their EOSVOLT account. They redeem it later at their convenience.

Redeeming in the app (what the owner does)

Open the EOSVOLT app.
Tap the Home icon in the footer menu.
Press the + icon in the top-right corner.
Paste the redemption code from the email.
Tap Continue.

The charger appears on their Home screen with all features available: scheduled charging, energy reports, and family sharing.

The Home chargers tab

The Home chargers tab lists all residential chargers linked to end users. It displays:

Charger alias and the owner's email
User ID
Serial ID
Charger model
Price profile
Total kWh and sessions
Status

From this view you can add new home chargers and open Electricity pricing, the price list used to reimburse owners for the electricity they supplied. See Adding a Home Charger for the setup flow, and the Home Charging Troubleshooting Guide when an owner reports problems.

What a driver pays is set separately, with a Price profile assigned to the charger. The two are easy to confuse and use the same kind of fields: electricity pricing is money going out to the owner, a price profile is money coming in from a driver.

Sharing a home charger

An owner can share their charger with up to five other people, who then charge on it from their own app accounts. You can manage that list yourself: open the charger's action menu and choose Manage shared users to invite someone by email, hand out an offline code, resend an invitation or revoke access.

It is one shared list, so an invitation you send appears in the owner's app and a person the owner added appears in your window. See Sharing a charger.

Billing modes

Home charging is settled through the household electricity bill, and the owner is reimbursed for the power they supplied using the Electricity pricing list on this tab.

Where a home charger's sessions should instead be priced and charged, assign a Price profile to the charger. See Price Profiles.

Common questions

The owner never received the invitation email. What now? Check Intelligence → Email delivery for the invite's delivery status, or use Add owner offline to hand them a redemption code directly.

Can several people use one home charger? Yes, up to five besides the owner. The owner can share it from the app, and you can invite or revoke people yourself with Manage shared users in the charger's action menu. See Sharing a charger.

Can I give someone access before the owner has redeemed their code? Yes. Owner and shared-user invitations are independent, so access can be handed out on installation day.

Can a home charger use a price profile? Yes. A Price profile can be assigned to the charger. Price profiles are not home-charger specific: the same section serves commercial, home, private and hybrid chargers, and locations.

What is the difference between Electricity pricing and a Price profile? Electricity pricing is what you reimburse the owner for the power they supplied. A price profile is what a driver is charged for a session. They are configured in different places and neither affects the other.

How does the owner charge cheaper at night? With scheduled charging in the app, or with a pricing setup that uses a Price profile with time-of-day rules.

What is the difference between a home charger and a private charger? A home charger is used for residential home charging and is settled through household electricity. A private charger belongs to a location and is the feature used when charging sessions should be billed through the app. See the Private chargers guide.
