Creating a location

Locations are the containers your chargers live in: you create the location first, then add chargers to it. A location only becomes visible on the app map after at least one charger has been added to it.

Create the location

1. Go to the Charge Points tab in your EOSVOLT dashboard.
2. Click Add Location.

Location name

The name you enter is what drivers see in the EOSVOLT mobile app.

Choose the location type: public or semi-public

• Public: visible to all users in the app and available for public charging.
• Semi-Public: visible only to authorized users in the app.

This is the only difference between the two setups; everything below applies to both.

Set the pricing

You can configure pricing for the location in two ways:

• Assign a Price profile
• Enter pricing directly on the location

If a price profile is assigned, that profile becomes the location's pricing setup.

Price profile

Select a Price profile if you want the location to use a saved pricing setup.

Price profiles are managed separately and can be reused across locations and chargers. See the Price Profiles guide.

Direct pricing on the location

If you do not assign a price profile, you can configure pricing directly on the location.

Pricing strategy

Charge drivers per kWh, per minute, or per hour, depending on the available setup for the location.

Price

Enter the main price including VAT.

Set custom pricing (time-based prices)

If direct pricing is used, you can enable different prices for different times of day.

• Configure time-based price blocks.
• Each block has its own rate.
• Hours not covered by a custom block use the main price.

Set an idle fee

An idle fee discourages vehicles from occupying a connector after charging has ended.

• Idle fee: the amount charged per interval once the grace period elapses.
• Idle fee interval: one value serving two purposes: the grace period before the first fee, and the cadence for repeated fees. Selectable values: 5 / 15 / 30 / 60 minutes.

How the idle fee works

1. Charging ends → the timer starts. The first interval is a grace period: no fee is charged until it fully elapses.
2. First interval reached → charge 1× idle fee and reset the timer.
3. Each subsequent interval → charge another 1× idle fee and reset the timer.
4. Fees stop when the driver unplugs and the connector is freed.

Example: idle fee USD 1, interval 15 minutes: USD 1 at +15 min, +30 min, +45 min, and so on until unplugged.

Idle detection

The system watches the connector status. If the connector stays in SuspendedEV (the vehicle has paused energy transfer, for example the battery is full, while still plugged in) for one full idle fee interval, the system stops the transaction if it is still open and starts the idle-fee timer.

Drivers are warned: the fee is disclosed on the location screen and in the pre-charge confirmation, and they receive a push notification when idle-fee billing begins.

Set the address and timezone

• Address: the physical address, shown to drivers in the app.
• Pin: placed automatically from the address; drag and drop the pin to fine-tune it.
• Timezone: makes bookings, pricing windows, and opening hours display correctly.

Set support contact and opening hours

• Support: assign support contact details specific to this location, or use your default CPO support information. The support details you enter during your first location setup are saved as the default; change the default later under Settings.
• Opening hours: define per day of the week and time range.

Add amenities

Amenities tell drivers what they can do nearby while their car charges. They appear on the location's detail screen in the driver app, and drivers can filter the map by them when looking for a place to charge.

Turn on Enable amenities to open the amenity picker:

• System amenities: tick any that apply from the built-in list, each with its own icon in the app: Restroom, Restaurant, Cafe, Convenience store, Wi-Fi, Waiting area, Shopping mall, Hotel, Gas station, ATM, Parking, Pharmacy, Truck accessible, and Car wash.
• Custom amenities: add up to 6 of your own per location (for example "Dog park" or "Playground"), each up to 26 characters. Custom amenities are shown on the location's detail screen but are not part of the app's amenity filter.

Amenities are optional and can be added or changed at any time from the location's detail view, so you can skip this during setup and come back later.

Location image and app visibility

• Location image: upload a photo so drivers can find the chargers inside, say, a large parking area.
• App visibility: Visible (appears in the app) or Hidden (for private or restricted locations such as residential complexes). Hidden affects visibility only, not access: the location won't appear in search, but users with a direct link or QR code can still charge.

Common questions

Why is my location not showing on the app map? A location becomes visible only after at least one charger has been added to it. Also check that App visibility is set to Visible.

What is the difference between public and semi-public? Public locations are visible to every app user; semi-public locations are visible only to authorized users. Pricing, idle fees, and all other settings work identically.

Can I use a price profile on a location? Yes. You can assign a Price profile while creating or editing the location.

Can I charge a different price in the evening? Yes. If you use direct pricing, you can configure time-based price blocks. You can also use a Price profile if you want a reusable pricing setup.

When does the idle fee start? After charging finishes and one full idle fee interval (the grace period) has passed. It then repeats every interval until the driver unplugs.

How do I show drivers what's near the location? Turn on Enable amenities during setup, or edit the Amenities section on the location's detail view later. Pick from the built-in list and add up to 6 custom entries of your own.
